There are some tricky barriers for girls to go through before they can be assured of safe spaces and empowerment. There are still many disturbing facts to consider, such as how there is four times the likelihood for girls to be sexually assaulted than boys by family members. Girls are also vulnerable to nutritional deficiencies and are 15 times as likely to be hospitalized due to eating disorders.

Their environment plays a key role in their development. As such, we want to educate schools and parents about the importance of rearing their children in an egalitarian household that does not discriminate. Mental health problems occur in places where children are usually bullied and not allowed to freely express and defend themselves. This is a problem that girls go through in a much harder way. We hope that when these girls grow up to be women, they would no longer have to endure the suffering abuse and harassment bring with them.
